Applications Privacy Policy
Updated August 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the DICOM Studio software application, including all desktop (Windows, macOS) and mobile (iOS, iPadOS, Android) versions developed and published by Marceda Ventures Limited ("we," "us," or "our").
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how it is used, and how we protect your information when you use DICOM Studio.
Information We Do Not Collect
DICOM Studio is designed with user privacy and data security as core principles:
- No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect, request, or store personal identifiers such as your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or payment details within the application.
- No Medical or Health Data Transmission: All DICOM images, patient files, medical records, and diagnostic metadata loaded into DICOM Studio remain strictly local to your device or local network infrastructure. DICOM Studio does not transmit, upload, or back up your DICOM files or patient data to external servers.
- No Account Registration Data: You are not required to create an account or provide credentials to access or use the application's core visualisation capabilities.
Information We Collect (Diagnostic & App Health Data)
To ensure DICOM Studio functions reliably, operates smoothly across different platforms, and allows us to troubleshoot crashes or errors, the application automatically collects limited, non-personal diagnostic data ("App Health Data").
Types of Diagnostic Data Collected:
- System & Device Specifications: Operating system type (e.g., Windows, macOS, iOS), OS version, device hardware architecture, and screen resolution.
- Application Metrics: App version, build number, launch duration, feature performance metrics, and error or crash reports.
- Anonymous Identifier: A randomly generated, unique anonymous device identifier assigned to your instance of the application.
Important Details About Device Identifiers:
- The anonymous identifier is unique to your device instance and is used solely to correlate diagnostic events and performance metrics.
- It cannot be used to identify you personally, track your browsing behaviour outside the app, or link your activity to any real-world identity.
How We Use Diagnostic Information
We use the collected diagnostic and health data exclusively to maintain and improve DICOM Studio. Specific purposes include:
- Monitoring Application Health: Ensuring system stability, detecting performance bottlenecks, and optimising resource usage across supported platforms.
- Troubleshooting & Crash Analysis: Identifying, diagnosing, and fixing technical glitches, bugs, and software crashes.
- Compatibility Enhancements: Ensuring compatibility with new operating system updates and hardware configurations.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any diagnostic data with third parties, advertisers, or external service providers. All diagnostic and app health data collected is processed, stored, and analyzed strictly internally by Marceda solely for the purpose of maintaining, optimizing, and improving application stability and performance across our supported platforms.
Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect diagnostic data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Because no transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, we continuously evaluate and update our security safeguards.
User Control and Data Retention
- Data Control: Diagnostic data collection is automated to maintain software safety and stability. If you wish to discontinue diagnostic data transmission entirely, you may uninstall the application from your device.
- Data Retention: Anonymous diagnostic logs and aggregate health metrics are retained only for as long as necessary to analyse trends, resolve software defects, and verify app performance.
Children
DICOM Studio is a professional medical visualisation application intended for adult users, medical professionals, and researchers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction).
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect updates in our applications, legal requirements, or operational changes. Any changes will be updated within this policy alongside a revised "Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we safeguard your privacy.
